A stout Hampton defense and a solid rushing attack led the Bulldogs to an impressive home opening win over 4A Star City here Friday night. Th e Bulldog offense amassed 287 yards on the ground while the defense recorded 5 sacks and had 3 interceptions against the 4A Bulldogs from Lincoln County.
DD Stephens got the scoring started midway through the 1st quarter with a 16 yard scamper around the left end. This came after Star City botched an attempted punt with a high snap.
